Meet ‘Knighty’

Knighty is a proud Kamilaroi man who learnt to paint from his Pop and in his words “some older fellers I’ve met along the way.” Painting is life-giving for him and essential to his mental health. Throughout his life, Knighty has used his art as a way to share story, honour significant people and process experiences. Currently, Knighty is working to rebuild his life through engaging in practical courses and learning new skills so he is able to gain stable, long-term employment. Art is a passion project for him and mentors at The Rices Care are supporting Knighty through providing resources, industry advice and building a network of contacts who are seeking to engage a First Nations Artist.
